As people who have thrown their lot in with Jesus Christ, we are ordained by God to speak about our Lord. For far too long we have been trained by our religious and secular culture to not speak Jesus Christ. Let us realize we bring the Lord wherever we go, and our God has chosen to speak through us. Let’s reach out to each other, out of our comfort zones and determine to allow the only God on earth who speaks to speak through us. Instead of our training to only listen to a pre-approved speaker, and assume they alone are qualified, let us be willing to offer ourselves to the Lord, trusting we are a vessel he can speak through.
And let us allow the rest of the body, as listeners and speakers, to discern the voice of the Lord. The Body of Christ is self-correcting, and by the Spirit of Christ dwelling in each one of us, we all have the ability to discern truth or error. Let us not condemn one another, but speak the truth to one another in love, speaking with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs [Ephesians 5:19]. To build up the body of Christ. To acknowledge our unity purchased by none other than the living Son of God. His blood purchased our freedom from sin. And as our Life-Giving Spirit, he dwells in us and enables us to speak Jesus Christ.
God has spoken (and is speaking) to us through his Son! [Hebrews 1:2] Hallelujah!
