We have been taught the gospel is about going to heaven for so long that when we speak of Jesus Christ we are often met with minds closed to the idea that we are speaking of the Key to solving the problems here on earth.
Jesus Christ brought heaven to earth. Being God and Man, He joined us here on earth to open the way to a totally new reality. We were created by Jesus according to John 1:3, so Jesus came to reclaim what He had lost in Eden.
The severing of our relationship with God in Eden is the cause of every evil throughout human history. We were created in such a way that we are dependent upon knowing God not only to discern good versus evil but to even have the ability to truly do good (see Matthew 7:21-23).
Because Jesus Christ has joined Himself to every believer through the Holy Spirit, He is participating in every situation in our lives. And until His people look to Him alone for the ability to live the life He’s called us to and give ourselves to living it – loving one another from the heart, being innocent as doves while maintaining the wisdom He alone gives – our impact on the world will remain minimal.
It seems the politicians, the media, entertainment, the stock market…all get our attention before Jesus Christ.
Man molded Jesus into a religion. But Jesus Christ came to start a new Kingdom.
